Surface Embroidery Stitch Sampler

Description:

Each month, you will learn a surface stitch family and its variations. Practice Simple Running Stitch and Back Stitch, Chain Stitch and Lazy Daisy, Stem Stitch and Blanket Stitch, beginning on Aida cloth and moving to Linen for your final project. An option to add two more lessons will be offered in Fall 2024.

DETAILS:

Skill level: This Program is for beginner stitchers and those who would like to add some expert tips to their repertoire.

Class Fee: $40 (includes fabric & various kinds of threads- Students to supply: Sharp embroidery scissors ● Tweezers ● Embroidery needles: assorted sizes for pearl cotton and 6 strand cotton ● Milliner’s needles any one of #3 to 6 ● Embroidery hoop: sizes from 6 to 10 inches with a screw to tighten ● Fine pencil pen in black ● Erasable blue marking pen: fine ● Slim and accurate 6 to 12 inch ruler with both cm and inch grid if possible ● Notebook ● Light and magnifier if needed)

Introduction to Assisi Embroidery

Description:

This traditional Italian folk embroidery is a combination of Blackwork and Cross Stitch. Choose from a selection of motifs shown here. Fabric counts and thread colours will personalize your project. 

DETAILS:

Skill level: This program is perfect for stitchers who are new to counted work or would like to learn how to combine two techniques.

Class Fee: $25 (includes kit - students to supply their own scissors and a table lamp/magnifier if needed)

Dates: March, April & May 2024 (3 sessions)
